Letter from the Philanthropy Chair
Hi everybody! My name is Ryan Foote, and I am so honored to serve as the current philanthropy chair for the Beta Phi chapter of Tri Delta. Tri Delta and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been proud partners since 1999. St. Jude is special in that it is the only pediatric children’s research center in which families never pay a dime or receive a bill. In addition, St. Jude shares their research and discoveries with hospitals around the world, so St. Jude even impacts children who they do not directly treat. Every child, regardless of his or her family’s ability to pay, receives world class medical treatment from St. Jude.
To date, Tri Delta has raised over $55 million dollars for St. Jude. Over the years, Tri Delta has set several different national fundraising goals. In 2006, Tri Delta made a commitment to raise $10 million in 10 years. This goal was met in just four years. After completing that goal, we set out to raise $15 million in five years and raised all of that amount in just 3.5 years. Tri Delta is currently in the midst of a $60 million in 10 years commitment, which is the largest promise any organization has ever made to St. Jude. Here at Beta Phi we are so excited to do our part in contributing to these goals.
For the 2017-2018 school year, Beta Phi raised over $33,000 and was the top fundraiser for Tri Delta chapters of our size across the country. Our chapter continues to support St. Jude with different philanthropy events, such as Delta House of Pancakes (more commonly known as DHOP), Family Weekend Silent Auction, and Battle of the DDDJ’s. We are currently in the middle of our Sincerely Yours letter writing campaign, which has raised over $7,000 so far.
I am so excited to see what this year holds for Beta Phi and our philanthropic efforts. My sisters and I are so honored to have the opportunity to raise both money and awareness for such an incredible institution. With steadfast love and support, we are looking forward to another exciting year of supporting St. Jude, a cause near and dear to our hearts.
