Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Philanthropy and service are an integral part of membership at Beta Phi! Every year, Beta Phi has three large-scale philanthropy events benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In the fall, we have our Annual Silent Auction on Family Weekend and our DDDJs contest between Centre's fraternities. In the spring, we have Delta House of Pancakes, an all-you-can-eat pancake bar. Frequently recognized as one of the top Tri Delta fundraising chapters of our size, we are so proud to be partners with such an outstanding and deserving organization. Because of this, we also participate in social media campaigns and our annual Sincerely Yours letter writing to further our support for St. Jude.

When not preparing for these events, chapter members are volunteering across campus and in the Danville and Boyle County community with organizations such as the Centre College After School Program as student tutors, cleaning up trails at Shaker Village, working at campus-wide service events by Centre Action Reaches Everyone, fundraising for Relay for Life, and participating in various individual coaching and mentorship projects at local elementary schools.

This past year, we began volunteering at Boyle County's local African-American cemetery. We cleared out weeds, cleaned up trash, and started work on getting the cemetery to be recognized as a historical site by the state of Kentucky. We are led this school year by the wonderful Claire Ansman, and if you would like to present a service opportunity or need anymore information about our chapter's commitment to service, please contact her at claire.ansman@centre.edu.
